Political Judgement

Host: Welcome friends, Romans, and countrymen, to Political Judgement! I have with me Brutus and Cassius, conspirators and assassins of Julius Caesar.

Brutus: We are liberators, not assassins.

Host: Yes, of course good Brutus. How did you see Caesar as a leader?

Cassius: Caesar did not cause any harm to Rome while he was dictator, in fact, he was an admirable leader. It was what he would have become that I detest.

Brutus: Yes, Caesar was a great leader and a great Roman, but his ambitions would have changed all of that for the worst.

Host: What are your views on Mark Antony and Why did you decide not to kill him along with Caesar?

Cassius: At first I though we needed to kill Antony in case he tried to seek vengeance for Caesar, but I later realized that it wouldn't be necessary.

Host: Do you think Antony may become a threat against you?

Cassius: When we last spoke to Antony, he was very understanding of our cause. He did not question our reasons for killing Caesar.

Brutus: As I have said before, Antony is merely a limb of Caesar. With Caesar dead, Antony is no threat to us.

Host: What about Antony's speech at Caesar's funeral? It caused quite an uprising with the commoners.

Brutus: I believe Antony's speech was misconstrued by the public.

Cassius: He did not speak ill of us, the commoners were simply looking for a reason to lash out against us. They have no true loyalty.

Host: I'm afraid this is all the time we have on Political Judgement. Thank you Brutus and Cassius for speaking with me.

Brutus: Good morrow.

Cassius: Good morrow.

Diary of a Commoner

Dear diary,

Today I have just witnessed the third time Antony has offered Caesar the crown. Being the noble man he is, Caesar denied it once again. Caesar does not wish to rule over us like the tyrant Pompey, he seeks to guide us and make Rome a better place. But even the great Caesar has some nonbelievers. Several "higher-ups" such as Marullus Flavius question Caesar's integrity, still believing that Pompey was their true leader. But Pompey is dead; rightfully killed at the hands of Caesar, and they are foolish to be living in the past. Those few who oppose Caesar are only greedy and hungry for power, and they know that Caesar won't grant it to them. From attending this ceremony and from all the cheers I heard, I know that almost all of Rome support Caesar and trust that he will never deceive us or take advantage of his power. Rome is still a country of the people, and under Caesar's rule it will stay that way.

Novel: Misery

I am currently reading the book Misery by Stephen King. Stephen King has written many novels, but this is one of his more well known books.

The story is about a famous author named Paul Sheldon. Paul get into a car acciden and wakes up in a bed with both of his legs broken. He was resued by his number one fan, Annie Wilkes. Annie Helps him recover, but Paul soon discovers that Annie is insane, and she won't let him leave her house. Annie is a huge fan of Paul's Misery book series, but she gets angry when she finds out that Paul killed off the main character. She makes Paul write a book for her while he tries to think of a way to escape.

The main character Paul is very calm and collected. Even though he's in a bad situation, and he's very angry and frightened, he never shows it. He is also clever because he tricks Annie many times.

I am enjoying this book so far, and I wish I had more time too read it.
